BiteSum Terms of Use

By downloading or using BiteSum, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. BiteSum is operated by [YOUR NAME / TRADING NAME], an independent developer based in Australia.

1. What BiteSum Is

BiteSum is a calorie and nutrition tracking and estimation tool. All nutrition figures, including calories, protein, carbs, fat, fibre, and sugar, are estimates for general guidance only.

2. Not Medical Advice

BiteSum does not provide medical, nutritional, or health advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It is not a substitute for a qualified professional. Do not rely on it for medical decisions. Always consult a doctor or accredited dietitian for health or dietary advice, especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or have an eating disorder. You use BiteSum's estimates at your own discretion and risk.

3. Your Data

Your food log is stored on your device. Our handling of any data that leaves your device is described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for keeping your own backups; uninstalling the app may delete your local data.

4. Subscriptions

BiteSum offers an optional paid subscription, BiteSum Pro, with monthly and yearly plans, and may offer a free trial. Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.

If you start a free trial and do not cancel before it ends, it converts to a paid subscription at the listed price. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Prices are shown in-app before purchase and may vary by region. Refunds are handled under Apple or Google policies.

5. Founder's Lifetime

If offered, a one-time Founder's Lifetime unlock grants the local premium features described at the time of purchase, plus the cloud allowance stated there. It is not a subscription and does not include unlimited server-based features.

6. Acceptable Use

Do not misuse the app or its optional cloud services. This includes attempting to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or abuse the services; making automated or bulk requests; or using the app unlawfully. We may limit or block access that abuses the service or threatens its cost or stability.

7. Intellectual Property

BiteSum, its name, design, and content are owned by [YOUR NAME / TRADING NAME]. You receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app. You do not receive rights to copy, resell, or redistribute it.

8. Availability and Changes

We may update, change, or discontinue features at any time. We aim to keep the app working but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BiteSum and its developer are not liable for any loss or harm arising from your use of the app or reliance on its estimates. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot be excluded.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of [your state], Australia, without affecting mandatory consumer protections in your own country.
